2021 Theme

“Don’t you know who you are?”

In the classic film, “Hook”, there is a moment when Wendy asks Peter this question, and it’s an important question for us all. Bewildered, Peter cannot come to grips with who he once was…the green-clad, sword swinging, rooster crowing Peter Pan who could fly and believed in fairies. In his scariest moment, he doubts it, resists it even, denying that he could ever possibly have been a part of such epic adventures.

On the heels, and in the midst, of a global pandemic, immeasurable loss, confusion and chaos, it’s a question worth asking. What if you remembered? Remembered why you started in the first place. Remembered who you were meant to be. Remembered the ways that you could create and imagine when you weren’t bogged down with crushing negativity and impossibility. Remembered the power you contain as a storyteller.

STORY 2021 will remind you of these things and more. With a little bit of pixie dust, and a little bit of daring to stare the pirates in the eyes, you will find not only your “why”, but your “who.”

How do you get there? Second star on the right, straight on ‘til morning.

Questions

We are doing all that we can to safely bring our community back together in-person for STORY 2021. With that in mind, due to contractual obligations with vendors, location, and staffing, we will not be able to issue refunds if you are unable to attend this event.

Thanks to the wonders of digital platforms, we have the ability to offer a great digital experience for our attendees unable to attend in person. Though we cannot refund these tickets, you are able to transfer your ticket to another person up to a week before the event.

Remember that no matter your ticket, you will have access to a full replay of STORY 2021 recordings for a full year!

In order to continue the magic at STORY, we do not share a schedule of when each speaker is on stage. We’ve found most attendees leave most inspired by a talk from a speaker who wasn’t even on their radar! All breakouts, however, will be available for review in advance and can be found ahead of time on the website.

Yes, but all ticket transfers must take place 7 days before the conference due to our ticketing platform.

We love surprising our attendees with free snacks and drinks throughout the event when we are able, however we will not be supplying meals. We will have food trucks on-site during lunch for you to choose from and there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance of the venue if you choose to venture off-site.

There is often free parking available at Nissan Stadium. This is a ten minute walk from the venue just across the beautiful pedestrian bridge. There are also plenty of paid lots around the venue.

No. Though there are many great hotels very close to the venue, we do not have any partnerships with hotels this year.

Unfortunately, we do not offer student/non-profit discounts and rates, but we do have great opportunities for volunteering. Apply here to volunteer in-person and here to volunteer online.

STORY wouldn’t exist without the support of our incredible partners. Please email [email protected] so we can begin a conversation about what it might look like to partner together!

While we are not offering a different rate for group ticket orders, if you are planning to attend with a large group (10 or more), please email us at [email protected] and we’d be happy to discuss.

Congrats, we’re excited you’ll be joining us! A few days prior to the event, you will receive a unique join link for our conference platform. We’ll be notifying everyone multiple times when this link goes out, so watch your inbox in the days leading up to the conference. (And keep your eyes on that junk folder just in case!)
